What we do

Two needs. Two specialised responses.

We work with technology departments in two distinct situations. When you need to identify the main gaps and decide what to improve first, we carry out an independent assessment. When you already know which capability you need, we bring in the right specialist. You can start with either service.

IT Assessment

In six weeks, you will know what your technology function needs to improve and where to start

We independently assess the maturity of your technology function across six dimensions and turn the findings into a prioritised action plan, including the adoption of AI where it makes sense.

  • An assessment across six dimensions, scored from 1 to 5.
  • Four phases over six weeks, supported by interviews and evidence.
  • A map of strengths and gaps, with a 0–3 month and 3–12 month action plan.
  • An independent report and roadmap that you can execute with your own team or with the provider of your choice.

Technology Outsourcing

When you know which technology capability you need, we provide it through a specialised service

We start with your need and context to define the scope and required capabilities. Xpecializa configures the service, assigns the right specialists and ensures ongoing oversight, support and continuity throughout the engagement.

  • A service configured around each technology need.
  • Specialists selected according to the capabilities required.
  • Ongoing oversight and support throughout the engagement.
  • Continuity of capability for as long as the need remains.
  • Capabilities covered: Software Architecture, Business Consulting, Enterprise Systems — including SAP and Salesforce — Cloud Native, Legacy Modernisation, Data Engineering, and DevOps & SRE.

How we work

Three principles that guide our work

  • 01

    Understand before acting

We do not start with a predetermined solution. We understand the context and the need before carrying out an assessment or configuring a technology service.

  • 02

    Evidence and professional judgement

Evidence supports the conclusions of the Assessment. Experience and professional judgement guide the configuration of each service and the assignment of specialists.

  • 03

    End-to-end accountability

Xpecializa takes responsibility for every service: for the methodology and quality of the Assessment, and for the oversight and continuity of Technology Outsourcing.

Introducing AI on top of that foundation would have amplified the existing disorder.
This was the conclusion of an assessment in which we recommended that the client pause its AI use cases and first put its processes in order.

Knowledge and community

We observe the market. We listen to its leaders. We share what we learn.

The Radar and Academia del CIO are our contribution to the technology community. They also enable Xpecializa to maintain direct, up-to-date knowledge of the market and of the challenges faced by those who lead the technology function.

About us

A specialised consultancy focused on strengthening the technology function

Since 2019, we have worked alongside technology departments on demanding projects and in complex environments. We began by providing specialised services and capabilities, an experience that has given us first-hand insight into how organisations operate, which gaps hold back their progress and what they need to move forward.

Today, we apply that knowledge through two independent services: IT Assessment, to identify and prioritise what needs to improve; and Technology Outsourcing, to provide the capabilities each organisation requires.

Xpecializa was founded and is led by Eugenio Ramírez, whose career has been built in the technology consulting sector.
