About us

Technology no longer supports the business. It is part of the business.

We help technology leaders identify which capabilities they are missing — and secure them.

Xpecializa is a consultancy specialising in the technology function. We help organisations adapt it to a reality in which it is no longer a support area but an essential business capability.

A change in position

The diagram represents the evolution of Technology from a mainly support-based function towards an essential capability embedded within the business.

Technology used to operate as a support area, separate from and subordinate to the business. Today, it is a capability embedded within the business itself, influencing the entire organisation.

We work alongside technology leaders and executive teams on both sides of that change — decision and execution — through two independent services: IT Assessment, which helps determine what needs to change, and Technology Outsourcing, which provides the specialised capability to make it happen.

  • IT Assessment
  • Technology Outsourcing

Neither service is a prerequisite for the other. They are engaged separately and each delivers value in its own right.

We approach every challenge with experience, professional judgement and a practical perspective — one that begins with the business and is proven through execution.

Why we can do this

We have closely observed the Spanish technology market since 2019. Since 2024, that knowledge has also been published every week through the Radar and shared through regular conversations with those who lead technology in major organisations at Academia del CIO. This knowledge is not a sales claim — it is published work that you can verify without speaking to us.

Where we come from

We began by providing senior specialists for demanding technology projects. Seven years of doing so taught us to recognise, almost at a glance, what a technology function is missing in order to perform effectively. That is why we now also carry out assessments — and why those assessments are grounded in practice, not theory.

Xpecializa Consulting S.L. was incorporated in Madrid on 4 September 2019.

How we work

  • Independence

The Assessment report belongs to you, regardless of who implements it.

  • Human judgement

We use technology where it helps; the decision regarding each specialist is always made by a person.

  • Ongoing support

We do not disappear once an agreement is signed or something is published. The relationship remains our responsibility afterwards.

Our public work

Two spaces for analysis and conversation through which we help build informed judgement, share real-world experience and reinforce the strategic role of the technology function.

The Technology Consulting Radar

What we stand behind — and what we do not

We stand behind

  • The report from an assessment belongs to the organisation that commissions it, not to the consultancy that produces it.
  • Assessing a person before introducing them takes time, and we invest that time.
  • Support does not end on the day an agreement is signed.

We do not promise

  • Results we cannot yet measure.
  • Delivery times we have not defined.
  • Scale we do not have.

We would rather state that clearly than fill the space with a line that merely sounds good.
